Greetings unto the Royal Family, Their Excellencies of Andelcrag, Ramone and Zubaida, Lord Sietz, Andelcrag Baronial Seneschal, and the populace of Andelcrag, from Thegn Edward Aelredson and Banthegn Genevieve Rose de Glendalough, called GenRose.

As per Their Excellencies missive regarding Their search for Heirs to the Barony, we would like to make known our interest and intent to be considered for the next Baron and Baroness of the Andelcrag. Below you will find information regarding our awards and offices previously and currently held as well as our thoughts on helping the Barony prosper and grow. We encourage the populace to seek us out or contact us if there are any questions which this missive does not fully answer.

Our plans as to the future of the Barony, our hopes for what it can continue to grow to be and how we would like to see that happen are quite simple: it’s populace. Who better to know how to help us grow than those whom it most affects? We plan to travel throughout the Barony to local group gatherings, be they formal meetings, events or social events. There we will talk to the populace about problems they see and how they would solve the problems. Getting a feel for the pulse of the Barony will allow us to then develop plans to make needed changes or implement new ideas, hopefully for the good of the most people. We are all too aware that we won’t be able to please everyone. But we hope to at least be fair and reasonable to as many as possible.

For example, we feel that there does seem to be a lack of overall community within the Barony. Yes, we do on occasion pull together for common things (i.e. – the recent Baronial practice, helping staff events where staffing is short, etc.). But overall the Cantons of the Baronies tend to be individual entities. They all hold their own Wassails, martial practices and A&S gatherings. Encouraging and promoting Barony wide gatherings can only help build on and grow our camaraderie and knowledge. A Baronial Wassail, an informal summer picnic/BBQ, traveling Baronial practices and A&S gatherings. Spreading these activities around the Barony and encouraging people to take the time to meet and get to know people in other groups and share their knowledge and love for the SCA. We have a wealth of hidden talents and skills within the Barony. Encouraging people to come together will start new fires in us all. There have been many individuals whom we have sat down and spoken with that had interests that we were not aware of. They have sparked us to broaden our horizons and try new things. As a result our enthusiasm has grown. Think of what this could do on a Baronial level.

It is no secret that we have sought to be the leadership and examples for this Barony before. Fate has not given us that opportunity so far. But it has given something more valuable: a chance to learn. With each new Baronial couple, new aspects and ideas have come. Some good, some bad. None of us are perfect. Yet all are learning opportunities. We have taken all of these to hopefully help us grow and become the best we can be. Be the shining example of the Barony that its populace can look to for guidance and inspiration. Hopefully we can have the opportunity to be that example for someone else who one day hopes to follow us on the Andelcrag thrones.

It is also no secret that we have made forays towards the Kingdom thrones. We have both been grateful for the opportunities and knowledge that has given us. But we know that seeking to ascend the Baronial thrones is a weighty responsibility. We wish to assure the Barony that should you give us the opportunity to lead you we will not seek to enter the Crown lists until such occasion as we would no longer sit the Baronial thrones. We take the responsibility of the Barony’s keeping and well-being seriously. As such, we would not dishonor it by seeking a higher responsibility. We leave this missive now with encouragement to seek us out should you have need of any further information or any additional questions.

In service to Barony, Kingdom and Society, we remain,
Thegn Edward Aelredson
Banthegn Genevieve Rose de Glendalough, called GenRose
mka Ed and Patresha Roehre
